Better Men Better World Search

For the past four years, I have been fortunate enough to get to know James Green quite well. James has a big heart; he genuinely cares about people, especially the ones without a voice in his community. He works hard to make a positive difference in the lives of everyone he meets.

James has spent countless hours volunteering and mentoring at-risk youths and their families. He has taught so many of them that there are still many opportunities for them no matter what their past looks like. He urges that all they have to do is reach out and take hold of the opportunities. James has changed the lives of hundreds of youths through his work with Eckerd Youth Alternatives (EYA), the Urban League of Palm Beach (ULPBC), Palm Beach County Center of Excellence, Palm Beach County Community Action Program and his consulting business. He assisted the National Achievers Society youths of the ULPBC to be the first team in Palm Beach County (PBC) to win the State Championship in the Mathematics Brain Bowl competitions, two years in a row. He has received many awards for his dedication to his community and society as a whole. He was named one of the Top 40 under 40 Black Leaders of Today & Tomorrow by Legacy Magazine in South Florida, in June 2011.

James is involved in many ways with his community. He is the president of the Urban League Young Professionals of PBC; he is an active member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc; and he is involved in Leadership Palm Beach to complete service learning projects that benefit communities in PBC, to name a few.

James has a way of motivating people making them want to reach for what is good in them, and give 110% in what they do. That is a rare skill to possess. He is patient and always sees the best in people regardless of the circumstances. People trust him and they are motivated to do better. He is an exceptional leader, role model and visionary for the betterment of his community and society as a whole. His peers would readily testify about his leadership skills and the difference that he makes in his community. He is humble and grateful for everything that he has, and never takes anything for granted. Whenever he is asked how he accomplishes everything that he does, he always gives praise to the people around him. People, young and old, look up to him and respect him for who he is as a person and what he does to make a difference in people’s lives.
