Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County
Rumson, NJ

Chris is a board member, College Bound mentor, golf outing organizer, and tireless advocate for the Boys & Girls Club.

Chris Harrison of Rumson, New Jersey has been making an impact on the lives of kids in Monmouth County for the past four years. He is the First Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County and a mentor in the College Bound program which pairs underprivileged high school aged students in Asbury Park and Red Bank with adult mentors to help them navigate the college application process.

For the last three years, Chris has mentored a young woman named Patricia who is now a junior at Kean University. Despite both her parents working multiple jobs, they make just over the level where she receives no financial aid, but not enough to help her with college expenses. As a result, Patrica has already accumulated over $48,000 in loans which she will have to begin paying back shortly after her graduation next year. Chris has made it his mission to help Patricia and other Monmouth County kids the chance to not only get into college and receive a degree, but also to graduate debt-free as his own children have.

Chris has chaired the "Swing for the Kids" Annual Golf Tournament for the past four years and raised more than $60,000 each year to help the Boys & Girls Club and its College Bound mentor and scholarship program. This year, all seven graduating College Bound seniors have been accepted into college and will receive scholarships from the Club to help offset their costs.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County serves over 1,600 kids a year and aims to provide safe places for young people in Monmouth County, especially those who need it most, where they can receive programs and services that will help them realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Programs include everything from homework help and college prep to healthy decision making and gang, drug, alcohol, and pregnancy prevention. Thanks to Chris Harrison, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County will continue to welcome and inspire more and more children in Monmouth County who need help each day.
